David Kelley TED Talk - How To Build Your Creative Confidence
That opting out [of creativity] that happens in childhood … moves in and becomes more ingrained by the time you get to adult life.” (David Kelley)
Inspiring. Stay Creative Idiots!
Well, at least the sneakers are new. Still though, who knows how clean the manufacturing and distribution centers are. Not sure the point of licking your own sneakers, but then again why do people kiss dice before playing craps in the casino? I guess it’s all luck.
Fat Joe made licking the bottom of deadstock sneakers immensely popular a few years ago when he did exactly that to a DS pair of “Olympic” Air Jordan 7s. Since then, many sneaker fanatics and Fat Joe fans have found themselves showing love to their footwear in this manner. Now Joe himself gets back to it as he recently let loose an image of himself licking the bottom of the DMP 6s. Check out the photo and let us know if you’ve ever done this.
Don’t Let Kanye Get In His Zone! Play The Game Now at kanyezone.com. Came out a while ago but still is addicting to play.
The objective is easy, don’t let him get in the zone! Seriously.
An article on CNN highlighted Mark Zuckerburg, rich ass Facebook founder, and his fashion style. The founder of a billion dollar company chooses to wear hoodies, even at meeting with top notch investors. Makes us wonder… With the rise of young startup companies foregoing the dress code, will the business suit be dead in the future?
The Magnificent Map of Rap Names!

Probably has every single rapper ever out, and they are all linked together in some way. So if we are all connected, why all this rap beef?

It’s interesting how all the data came from the fashion schools themselves. Maybe they need more students to attend their schools and pay tuition? Cynicism aside, the article is promising and optimistic. Hopefully fashion people are out there grinding and staying confident in their product and dreams (we sure are!).
Nylen is even more optimistic for the class of 2012, which finished the academic year on May 9. “Job listings in fashion are up 42 percent this year over last year, which is huge,” she said, noting that some of those grads have already been hired by footwear companies such as Nike and Reebok.
“I do see an increase in jobs [for 2012],” added Deborah Yanagisawa, Pratt’s assistant director of career and professional development.

- We at Surrounded By idiots love to feature other artists on our blog. When we find acts that we like, we love to talk them and hear about their vision and dreams. We reached out to Novacaine Carter, an aspiring MC from the H-Town and ask him a few questions about his work, influences and dreams. Be sure to check out his artist page and listen to his music, especially the T.A.N.G. mixtape that he released recently. And be sure to follow him on Twitter and Like him on Facebook (info at the end of this post). This guy is ambitious and is definitely doing his thing!

We here at SBi love people that are chasing their dreams. So we gotta know, what made you want to pursue your dream in music? When did you realize that this is the direction you want to take?
The void I felt in my life after moving away from my hometown San Diego to Houston inspired me to start writing.
Trike Drifting

A couple of days ago, Method Man shares his opinion on Air Force Ones, favorite Jays and his negative opinion on the Foamposites.
A top selling sneaker will definitely have the critics. However, do you guys agree?
Definition: A hypebeast is slang for someone who is a beast (obsessed) about the hype (in fashion), and will do whatever it takes to obtain that desired hype. The term is meant to be derogatory by ridiculing of such with a lack of style.
Hypebeast 1: Hey did you see the new Fall catalog for Supreme? Stuff looks crazy good!
Hypebeast 2: Yeah definitely man, I really love that purple NorthFace x Supreme windbreaker, looks so dope!
Hypebeast 1: Word is that those are going for $400, damn! I just recently bought some Air Yeezy’s in Black/Pink for $850 off a guy in eBay so I don’t have any funds. But what a fucking steal! The guy only wore these like six times.
Hypebeast 2: Dude that is such a good deal but I’m definitely copping those windbreakers man, $400 is so worth it. And only 50 pairs worldwide? I’m sold!
Hypebeast 3: Yo you guys, I just copped a shit load of stuff this week and it all came in today. Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Coin Pouch for $450, TI$A Chicago Bulls Snapback for $120, OriginalFake shirt for $85, and I got these Nike SB City Series Londons for $1,200. Swag! *Cooks*
Hypebeast 1 & 2: Damn son.

Mimikcry Fahrradi Farfalla FFX Supercar
My goodness. Too dope!
One part art project, and equal parts exploration into the meaning of what a “super car” is, design team Mimikcry have unveiled the Fahrradi Farfalla FFX – a truly one-of-a-kind bicycle with aspirations for the Autobahn.

Check out Tokyo Flash Japan, where they sell some cool and innovative watches. The designs are pretty sweet and if you are willing to wait a few days for shipping, it should definitely be worth it.
Out on the edges of car customizing lives a couple of artists whose trade includes using regular black Sharpie markers to create pieces of art. Chris Dunlop may be the best-known marker in the pack, and this is his latest work, a Sharpie-styled 1999 Ford Mustang GT that took about 50 hours of freehand drawing to finish.
